Job Summary

Based in Hong Kong, and employed by the Hong Kong Rugby Union, this is a very exciting career opportunity for a Performance Rugby Coach with coaching responsibilities at both Hong Kong Football Club and National Representative level for the Hong Kong National Squads.

The Club Coaching Officer, along with the Hong Kong Football Club Management Team, will be responsible for developing and implementing club and national team strategies in applicable areas. They will have performance knowledge and expertise across tactical, technical, and psychological elements of the game, including performance analysis.

They will be responsible for the design, delivery, and review of appropriate development plans to meet the needs of individual players and teams. Liaising with the General Manager Rugby Performance and Rugby Section Chairman and Rugby Section Director of Rugby (DOR), the CCO will have the required knowledge and experience to disseminate appropriate trends, techniques and philosophies throughout the ‘club’ and its partners (including age group squads and schools).

Key responsibilities include:

To provide performance coaching to the Hong Kong Football Club Rugby Section within the performance level of the domestic league structure, and fulfil the needs and requirements of the Club as instructed
To develop playing and coaching philosophies that support the delivery of short, medium, and long-term Club ambitions and goals, as well as sustainable player and coach pathways across the club
To be responsible for the weekly, monthly, and seasonal preparation of relevant teams within his/her remit (specifically prior to all matches and tournaments)
To work closely with the HKRU General Manger of Performance to provide specialized skill development to players across HKRU Performance Programmes, and support at both domestic and international tournaments

Your profile:

Essential

Degree level qualification
Level 2 Coaching Certificate or equivalent (Ideally Level 3)
Minimum of 2 years relevant coaching experience at professional/performance and development levels
Knowledge and Experience of Long-Term Player Development
