WE ARE CALLING ON THE HKFC RUGBY SECTION COMMUNITY TO TAKE PART IN THE HONG KONG TO HANOI CHALLENGE!

GET ACTIVE ACROSS APRIL AND HELP RAISE FUNDS TO CONTINUE SUPPORTING UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN HONG KONG AND VIETNAM – PROVING THAT LIVES CAN CHANGE THROUGH SPORT.

We are excited to launch the Hong Kong to Hanoi Challenge – a virtual charity challenge event which encourages teams to cover a minimum distance of 869kms (the distance from Hong Kong to Hanoi) across April.

The Challenge officially kicks off on April 1 and aims to get us moving more to benefit our overall wellbeing. It also raises funds for charity, so it’s about driving positive change as a team and as a community.

Due to the global crisis, many organisations that support vulnerable children and young people are struggling. As a way to help provide support for young people in this difficult time, we have developed #HKFCRugbytoHanoi.

All funds raised through this initiative will go to ChildFund Rugby in Vietnam and Po Leung Kuk in Hong Kong, in partnership with Laureus Sport for Good – to ensure that critical programmes that we support, continue to run.

The challenge is simple! If you’re a current HKFC Rugby player, join your team on the HKFC Rugby to Hanoi platform before April 1, set your own individual fundraising and distance targets, track your activity (manually or through Strava) – and go!

If you’re not currently a playing member of the HKFC Rugby Section you can still get involved by starting a team of your own, or making a donation to an existing team or individual, or the Challenge as a whole.

The team target distance of 869kms can be achieved by walking, swimming, running, cycling or playing sport – however you like to keep active! And if your team would like to push past this target distance, this is a friendly competition so we encourage you to do so!

Who wins? Simply, the Team and the Individual who raise the most funds for ChildFund Rugby and Po Leung Kuk, in partnership with Laureus Sport for Good, WIN!

Winning Team – a unique masterclass Q&A with a Laureus Ambassador, Jean de Villiers.

Winning Individual – a Springbok, Tokyo 2019 Rugby shirt signed by Bryan Habana.

Our partners Asahi have also kindly donated a year’s supply of Peroni to reward the over 18s winning team!

So, rally some team members and start to plan some hikes or other physical activity. And don’t forget to document your journey by tagging #HKFCRugbytoHanoi on social media! We’d love to see your photos!

Please ensure you adhere to all government regulations and guidelines in respect to COVID-19 when completing activities related to the HKFC Rugby to Hanoi Challenge.

Thank you to our partners Natixis, AIA, Block. One, Collinson, Mourant and Latham & Watkins for continuing to support HKFC Rugby Section initiatives focused on making a difference in the community.

If you have any questions about how to get involved, please feel free to get in touch with the Hong Kong to Hanoi developers Just Challenge via [email protected]
