A large number of friends and family descended on Sports Road to watch the Chairman’s XV vs Select, both of whom exhibited a thrilling and high-octane brand of running rugby, highlighted by numerous line breaks, end-to-end set plays and the very, very, occasional knock-on…
It was a close, hard fought game with The Chairman’s XV ultimately beating Select 21-14.
Although all played well – including Sean Kirk – special mentions must go to Adrian Dryden, James Cush and Willem Lambrechts from Select and Max Young, Paul Skurr and Sam Bowering from The Chairman’s XV for picking up 3,2,1 honours for their respective teams.
A fantastic post-match function on the sportsman’s terrace followed, bringing us all together to share some well-earned refreshments, stories and laughs and to remember a great man, and our good friend, Dave Davenport.
