Hong Kong Football Club (HKFC) Rugby is making its mark on the international rugby scene, with numerous athletes representing Hong Kong China across different teams and competitions.

Hong Kong China Men’s XVs Tour South America

Following Hong Kong China’s Asia Rugby Men’s Championship win, the team have embarked on a historic tour of South America. Of the 32-player squad, 12 HKFC players feature:

  • Tommy Hill
  • Nate De Thierry
  • Matt Worley
  • Tyler McNutt
  • Pierce Mackinlay-West

  • Charles Higson-Smith

Additionally, HKFC’s Logan Asplin has been part of the coaching team, whilst Charles Cheung has taken on the role of team manager.

The team have already faced off against Chile (22-17 loss)  & Paraguay (80-12 win), and now head to Sao Paulo to play Brazil on the 21st of July.

Touch World Cup

Hong Kong China is sending its largest-ever contingent to the Touch World Cup in Nottingham, England – with six teams participating across various age categories. 7 current & former HKFC players feature, alongside 2 of our parent coaches:

  • Men’s 30s: Charles Cheung, Bernie Reeves, Ricky Cheuk
  • Men’s 40s: Justin Flowers, Kirk Kahu
  • Mixed 30s: Stephanie Siu, Lawrence Chan, Diana Li
  • Women’s 27s: Keri Lam

The 7 also includes youth coach Laurent Villemeur will represent France in the Men’s 45s category.

Hong Kong China U20s Men’s: World Rugby U20 Trophy 2024

HKFC has continued its strong representation in the youth ranks, with 6 players participating in the World Rugby U20 Trophy 2024 in Edinburgh, Scotland:

Whilst Hong Kong China have faced stiff competition in their pool games, the team have the chance to finish on a high in the 7th place play-off against Kenya on Wednesday 17th July.
